Extending its commitment to underserved communities, Rise and Restore conducted a mental health awareness camp in an interior village of Chowkibal, Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir.
The session focused on bridging the gap between awareness and access by informing residentsβparticularly womenβabout available mental health support and affordable healthcare services in both government and private institutions. Special emphasis was placed on schemes such as the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and the Golden Card, enabling participants to better understand and utilize these essential resources.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Wani, managing director of Quality Healthcare, Kupwara, and Dr. Ashraf, principal of the Government School, Kupwara, whose presence reinforced the importance of collaborative community health efforts. Over the course of nearly two hours, the session evolved into a space of dialogue, where women from the village came together, shared experiences, and engaged actively with the facilitators. This initiative raised awareness and empowered participants with knowledge, encouraging informed healthcare choices and fostering a sense of collective strength within the community.
