Rise and Restore organized a gender sensitization and mental health awareness workshop at Doda District Jail, bringing together jail officials, BSF personnel, and other stakeholders to create an open dialogue around gender, mental well-being, and the challenges faced in uniformed and institutional environments. The event was honored by the presence of the Superintendent of Doda District Jail and the BMO, who supported and embraced the initiative.
As a subject expert, Murchana Baishya, CEO, Rise and Restore, spoke on gendered issues and gender sensitivity in uniformed spaces, highlighting the importance of understanding how gender norms and expectations can influence workplace relationships and well-being. Cap. Jury Bhuyan, principal of J.B. College and retired NCC officer, addressed participants on mental health and stress management, while Mr. Uzair Zargar, chairperson of Rise and Restore, spoke about mental health, its wider consequences, and the importance of timely support.
The workshop provided a meaningful platform for reflection, dialogue, and awareness, reinforcing Rise and Restoreβs commitment to promoting gender equality, mental health awareness, and healthier institutional environments.
